Sharing the joy of the human spirit in mid air around the world!
International Photography Project

Definition of JOY

1 – the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires. Delight. The expression or exhibition of such emotion : gaiety.
2 – a state of happiness or felicity : bliss
3 – a source or cause of delight.

Why jumping?

Jumping is fun.

Jumping is up lifting.

Jumping is celebration.

Jumping is good for your health.

Jumping is silly, freeing and energizing.

Jumping is a unique expression of who you are.

You use your own energy, strength and determination to jump.

Jumping for joy celebrates all that is good and positive in the world.

Jumping gets your blood pumping and gives you an adrenaline rush.

Jumping is a metaphor for life and a symbol for expressing and sharing joy.

“Surrounding yourself with images that uplift your spirit is as important for your health as nutritious food.” – Deepak Chopra – Origin Magazine

I meet up with people to do jumping photo sessions with the intention of creating and sharing the energy of joy.

I take photos as people jump up into the air and share their energy of joy with the world. This fun, playful action symbolizes lifting ourselves and others up with the energy of joy.

By focusing on the energy of joy and creating a compilation of joyful photos, I am creating a unified community that showcases creativity, positivity, joy and fun that uplifts both participants and viewers.

Capturing the expression of joy through the simple act of jumping, reminds us to take ourselves and life a little less seriously, if just for a few moments.

“When you ask a person to jump, his attention is mostly directed toward the act of jumping and the mask falls so that the real person appears.” – Philippe Halsman

Leading up to 2012, there were theories that the world was coming to an end… We are still here. The world is still turning and with the speed of our technology, it seems to be spinning faster than ever before. Wars and injustice are still raging rampant, people are still working themselves to death to obtain objects and status in individualistic societies, and people are still dying from starvation when there is food enough to feed the world.

There is an increasing focus on positivity and joy in the social consciousness that IS changing the world as we know it.

I am passionate about showcasing positive, ethical people/leaders, creators and change makers. I’m inspired by people improving the world by doing what they love, people who are positively inspiring the world with integrity, and taking risks to make their life dreams into reality. People are focusing on self love, joy, peace, community and cooperation.

There is an overwhelming movement and desire to create a better world, a better place to live, for everyone and I want to capture and share that energy.

Sharing Jump for Joy photos is my way to reach the true joy and childlike playfulness within people, and spread the powerful energy of joy around the world.

Let’s play, create positive images, laugh and Jump for Joy!

  1. This is my wish too………….May God help you in changing your wish into reality! AMEEN!(this word we Muslims say after every prayer we made. Of course God knows and listens to all what is in the heart. This is you just a thing taught to us by Our Prophet-peace be upon him)
I, myself, was thinking of what could I do to stop all the bad things happening in the world. And for this purpose I had taken to pen because I believe in its power.

    1. Although I speak well but I’m really not a nice writer and make lots of mistakes while writing. In the above post, I wanna make a correction in the fourth line. And the correction is ‘You can say that this is just a thing taught to us by our Prophet-peace and blessings of Allah be upon him’.

  2. It is soooo difficult to see a picture of someone jumping like this and NOT see “the child within, immediately.” THANK YOU for such an inspiring site!!! BEAUTIFUL pictures, by the way!

  3. I love your idea. Just thinking of someone jumping for joy makes me feel lighter and more hopeful. I wanted to share a little story of mine with you that shows just how much difference it makes for me. Here’s the URL: . If it doesn’t come through, the story is called “Lively Up Yourself” (after the Bob Marley song). Thank you, best wishes, and looking forward to going through more of your blog.

  5. What a wonderful concept! I don’t know why I’ve never thought of something similar myself… Maybe because I’m naturally (too) reserved. Hmm… Thanks so much for becoming a part of my blog, btw. I appreciate it so much and will be back by yours often!
