Getting back to the joy of nature with Eileen Stern at the Indian Canyons.

I love when Jump for joy photo sessions become full on adventures, like a hike through the stunning Indian Canyons with Eileen’s hiking group (more features to come from this hike!).

This shot was a spontaneous stop on the way to the canyon hike entrance. We all pulled over to the side of the road when we saw these interesting rock formations and I quickly got this great snap of Eileen jumping for joy before our hike even started!

Get to know a little about Eileen and what makes her jump for joy:

Q: What inspires you to jump for joy?
Friends, love, nature.

Q: What was your experience doing the jumping photos?
Before excited. After joyful and happy.

Q: How do you describe the feeling of joy?
Joy is doing things you love and sharing it with others. Joy impacts my life everyday by being grateful for the people I love and share the world with.

Q: What is your greatest passion in life?
Doing good deeds. Raising funds for good causes. Makes me feel a sense of purpose.

Q: How do you feel about being part of a collaborative community project that promotes joy?
I do not like to be alone… Being part of a community and a community project gives me joy.

Q: If you could do anything in the world, what would it be?
Make the world more loving and whole. Fighting for progressive causes in my political activism.

Q: What are you working on?
A: I do a lot of charity work. which I started. which I do fundraising for Jewish fest which I chair and pick films for as well as a women’s film festival for Planned Parenthood.
