Fun feels good :)

I love to laugh and have fun. It seems pretty obvious to me that fun must be good for us, since it feels so good and it creates so much joy in my life.

In fact I would say that I get the same kind of pleasure out of taking jumping photos as I do when I am the one jumping. At the end of every shoot my heart is racing with excitement and adrenalin, during the shoots I often fall into fits of laughter, Im sweaty (as though I were the one jumping myself), I can’t stop smiling and feel light, giddy and feel full of life.. and all I did was take the photos! It feels great.

Today I discovered a new word: Eustress and I’ve learned something new about why it is that fun feels so darn good… apparently, Eustress, is defined as stress that is deemed healthful or giving one the feeling of fulfillment. The word comes from the Greek word Etymology which means, ‘well, good’ + stress.

Elizabeth Scott, M.S. describes writes… “Fun activities provide a source of eustress, the ‘good’ kind of stress that keeps you feeling vital and alive. It’s the sense of excitement you get from completing a project, riding a roller coaster, or meeting an exciting challenge in your life. I am happy to note that another of my favourite things that happens during the shoots is good for us too.. Laughter. Social Benefits of Laughter: “Laughter connects us with others. It all sounds great to me 🙂 And I am so happy to be sharing these experience with the amazingly talented and creative people who have been jumping for me. I just can’t wait for my next shoot so I can share more fun and more laughter while at the same time creating art 🙂
